JOSHUA KOHL and JEFF HUSTON

Composer Joshua Kohl of the Degenerate Art Ensemble will present his project with the San Francisco based performance company. Kohl created this project with the help of composer/music software developer Jeff Huston. The music was created by recording hours of source material on homemade instruments and then "remixing" it through Huston's software.

Joshua Kohl is a founding member of DAE and has worked as music director, composer and performer since the beginning. His compositions have included works for dance, silent film, concert ensembles,
classico-punk-big-band and street performances - always striving to expand the possibilities of multi media art. He is also the conductor For DAE's orchestral work. His latest work has also involved designing and performing new types of acoustic instruments. In addition to work with DAE, he also composes for theater and dance. He will music direct and compose for San Francisco's dance theater company InkBoat for a premiere of their new work C(h)ord at the Yerba Beuna Center in San Francisco as well as composing two new scores for the Portland Center Stage's 12th Night and the Beard of Avon. more
